The Jardine doesn't or at least hasn't on my Savage turn blue, it does however turn a light golden color. It looks absolutly awesome on the Savage and sounds even better! I didn't need to rejet the carb and I remember the Shade Tree cataloge saying no rejetting required. My savage is an'87 so I don't know what difference there might be but I don't think there is any.
